audio planning

I plan to begin my opening with a non diegetic  song called "You Don't Know" however, I only recently asked for permission to use it and have not gotten a response yet. Although my plan to use it will include having it be non diegetic at the beginning then transition to diegetic after the credits finish as Lucas turns off the record player that is 'playing' the song.
The reason I want to do this transition is because I want the credits to be played while Lucas is on his way home from hanging out with friends and I want the scene to transition from the credits and him being with his friends smoothly to him being in his room alone.

However, I also have another plan using the same song with the credit scene where the song is just completely non diegetic. So my idea is that the credits will end when Lucas walks inside and there will be a still shot of the door during the day with the music playing still and when the credits finish the time is skip to nighttime where the music will stop and everything will be silent.
The reason I like this idea is because I think it shifts the tone of the opening and causes the audience to feel a little uncomfortable from the sudden shift of music playing and daytime shining to uncomfortable silence and eerie nighttime.

I was thinking of giving Lucas an inner monologue throughout the opening, however I'm not sure if it would be necessary. I also think while it can give the audience a clear description of what he is actively thinking, it might kind of ruin the feeling I'm going for in the opening. Therefore while it might happen I'm not very sure I'll give him one in the final product. The reason is because I'm not sure it will serve any real purpose to his character despite giving him a voice and everything that would come from a monologue I plan on developing through other means.

In general, the entire opening will mostly be pretty silent with any noise being diegetic and from Lucas. I want it to be kind of silent so that the audience will be uncomfortable. I also think having the opening be silent will cause the audience to focus more on what is really happening and look into what he is feeling.
